No. In general beta testers do not automatically get a free copy of the
final product.

If you were an official beta tester (beta ID, access to BetaPlace, news
groups), then you received the mail indicating that we would be receiving a
"gift" in October - which is now. No copy of Office was ever promised nor
do I think that we will receive one.
If you used the public beta kit for which you paid S&H ($19.95 IIRC), then
you were not a beta tester and will not receive anything from MIcrosoft
except the experience of using Beta code and the use of the beta through
January 2004.

One incentive for Beta testing besides getting to see new features is that
you can make suggestions that theoretically MS may look at, as you know.
You can order a 30 day free trial of MSO 2003 from the Office site.

That's how it feels. You beta test you take your time to submit the bugs. You help them remove the bugs you find and the thank you we will probably get is a T Shirt with Clipie on it.

so basicly microsoft is still lying to their customers. look! ive not goten shit for beta testing and the product went gold. the very least that could have happened was a simple coipy of what we beta tested. no! microsoft has to be cheap ass people and try to make a buck on the testers.

So, now that we won't get anything for another few weeks/month anyone have any guesses as to what'll actually be in the beta pack
My guess is Office2003 Pro and a t-shirt. They handed out 2003 pro cd's at PDC.
