I can not find my scanpst.exe file. Can these be redownloaded?

How do I repair my scanpst.exe file for Outlook; it is missing. I have Office
Professional 2007, academic version. I have looked in the 1033 folder
wherever I can find it, and I have searched using Explorer, to no avail.

There are quite a few mistakes in that article. Russ's referenced article
was much better and more accurate.

Wrong. If you installed Office, you installed scanpst.exe.
--

It appears that sometimes somehow scanpst.exe is not installed with
the office installation.
You can find more information about how and where to find scanpst.exe
herehttp://scanpst.org/scanpst-exe-location-where-to-find-scanpst-exe

Yes you are right, you can find the scanpst.exe but you cannot run
it...
the error goes like that
This application has failed to start because SCNPST32.dll was not
found.

Anyway, even if you can find the file, the I do not recommend using
it.
This is because it is better to create a new fresh PST file by
exporting all the mailbox data out of it.
You can for example use the Scanpst Pro at http://scanpstpro.com

Has the OP tried a simple file/folder search for scanpst.exe?

You've posted two more errors.
1. The IRT runs just fine with any normal installation. Yours was corrupt.
2. It is never wise or recommended to transfer Outlook data by exporting it.

well I thought like you but then the problems with the mailbox
repeated...
so I created a new PST file and imported all the data from the old
one.
It is like formatting the computer. Sometimes you cannot avoid a
reset / format.
Good Luck anyway.
