I can not recover web task pane, only print task pane. Help!

I have been working on a website and used to use the website task pane. I no
longer can use it and have tried everything I can think of to bring it up.
The only task pane I can use is for print publications. Can anyone help me
recover it?

What happens when you open your website in Pub and choose View | Task
Pane?...is it not there?
