I can not view my Inbox downloaded messages

I've just downloaded the outlook 2007, but I do have a problem with my inbox
downloaded messages.

When I click the send/receive button, I can see the inbox tab showing me
that I have new messages [i.e. Inbox (25)], but Unfortunately I don't see any
of the new messages.

Even when I set the view option to view only Unread Messages I end up having
a blank page with the tab still showing me [i.e. Inbox (25)].

I would appreciate any help that would clear this problem for me.

Make sure you disable all your mail scanning add-ins (spam, virus, synch,
etc...) as they pretty much are all incompatible with Outlook 2007.

First I would like to thank you for responding, the thing is where do I go in
outlook to de-activate viruse checking and what if my email account is an
exchange account that is linked to the company mail system which by defults
has virus checking.

I'm talking client side mail checking here. The option to disable
integration is within your virusscanner settings.

Other options involve resetting your current view and recreating your
ost-file.

What version of Exchange do you connect against?

Thank you Roady for interacting with me on this.

I just want to inform you that I did solve the problem and I am using all of
the features within outlook perfectly.

Let me tell you what I did to clear the problem.

In addition to the company Exchange Server, which has its own antivirus
scanning system and firewall protection system within the server, I also have
personnel POP3 accounts.

Therefore to follow your advise I went to Outlook and in the Tools Manu >>>
Trust Centre >>> Macro Security, I selected No security check for macro I
then deleted my company account (Exchange Server) and recreated it again and
set one of the POP3 accounts as my default account.

Believe it or no all of my email were displayed.

The good thing about Outlook 12 that when you compose a new email there is
a button next to the send button call account, it gives you the choice of
selecting which account do you want to use to send your email. Having this
option solved my problem of setting the Exchange Server account as my default
which caused my emails to disappear. Therefore I ended up setting one of my
POP3 accounts as my default and when ever I want to send an email using my
Exchange server account I just use the Account button.

So thank you for your efforts and I hope that what I have described in this
response will help other to solve the same problem that I’ve faced.
