I have no idea who I can call to walk me through the email set up in outlook
- I have verizon.net as the server both incoming and outgoing, I can get
emails, but when I go to send a response, they won't go, also outlook does
not save my contacts. So I don't get it - this is a trial version....

verizon.net may be the name of the ISP but is most likely not the name of
the mail server at verizon.net.

I found one using Google that says the mail servers for verizon would be:
incoming.verizon.net
and
outgoing.verizon.net

Post what is the error dialog you receive (i.e., what the error actually
says) when you try to send a message so we know, too. Munge or alter
any sensitive information, like your username, but make it look similar
to what is its content (i.e., change a real username of "johndoe" to,
say, "myusername").

Make sure you are properly authenticating to your Outgoing server. We can't
tell you exactly how as long as you keep your version of Outlook a secret.
also outlook does not save my contacts.

Automatically? Outlook doesn't do that.
