I can see the project in MSP_PROJECT but not in Project Pro or PWA

Hi All:

I can see the project in MSP_PROJECT table but not in the list of all the
projects when I try to open through Project Pro 2002 (File -> Open) and it
does not show in project center in PWA. We use Project Server 2002 SP1.

On talking with project manager, I found that on publish this project failed
and hung up the application. This project was never deleted from Project
Server.

Please advise if you are aware of this problem and recommend a solution for
this.

Thanks,
I-Ali

I-Ali,

You've got to get the project to publish successfully to see it in the project center in PWA. Maybe someone else that can successfully publish projects can publish this one.

Is this a project that's being published from an existing .mpp file? If so, use the Tools>Enterprise Options>Import Project to Enterprise menu option to accomplish this.

Hi Earl:

I have the administrator rights therefore I should be able to publish any
project.

This project was not created from a local .mpp file. The PM started from a
blank project in Project Server and added enterprise resources as well as
local resources to the project. When he tried to publish it, Project Pro
crashed. It never showed up in the Project list in Project Pro and PWA.

I can see it in MSP_PROJECTS table though.

Thanks,
Imttiaz

Of course, rights/persmissions are important but not the whole story. Publishing projects successfully is really a function of being able to properly connect to the project server through project professional, which you can tell from this newsgroup is not a trivial thing.

Are you saying that you have successfully published other projects and this one won't publish?

Also, when a project publishes successfully you'll find it in the MSP_WEB_PROJECTS table, not MSP_PROJECTS.

Earl:

May be I did not explain the question in my communication correctly. The
project was saved and hung up on publishing. Now it is not showing up in the
list of projects in Project Pro 20002.

Anyways, I have posted the question in another thread so please ignore this
request. Thanks for your replies.
