I cannot access my normal.dot global template. how do i reconfigu.

I appear to have deleted my normal.dot global template and have tried
removing and then again adding word - but have been unsuccessful.

When I attempt to open a new document the message I get is "there appears to
be too many edits in this document".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
