I cannot activate my office programs by typing product key...

I just bought a new laptop with windows vista and I am trying to activate the
office programs (licenced) with the product key written under the laptop.
But, when I am typing it, it appears the warning that this is a wrong key.

What should I do?

Please kindly inform me about a solution.

Use good lighting - sometimes Bs look like 8s, Ds like Os or 0s, etc.

The key on the base of the PC is for Vista
The key for office is on the Office cd case, or if preinstalled ask your
Laptop manufacturer where they put it
