I cannot move the vertical ruler

I saved a document and now for some reason the vertical ruler is stuck at the
top and it cannot be moved, it is also like this every time I open Word.

How do I move it?

Word has two rulers, a horizontal and a vertical one. If you are saying that
you cannot see the vertical ruler, choose the appropriate option in the
(Word) Options dialog box:

- Word 97-2003: Tools | Options, View tab: "Vertical ruler (Print view
only)".

- Word 2007: Office button | Word Options, Advanced tab: "Show vertical
ruler in Print Layout view."

Also, as indicated by the above options, the vertical ruler will only be
visible in Print Layout view.
