I cannot open dbf file.. says " jet engine cannot find object"

In Access, Everytime I try to open this dbf it says "microsoft jet engine can
not find object." However, i know nothing wrong because i can open it in
excel. But the file has too many records (>65k) so I bought Access to solve
the problem... but now I cant open it.. Help?
