Three days ago I booted up my computer and attempted to open Microsoft Word
2000. The first window opened with the Word emblem and the little hour glass
icon popped up and nothing else happened! The computer was then frozen and I
had to turn the computer off (without closing it properly, which I hate
doing). I have been trying for three days to open Word with the same result
each time. I even left it on all night last night with no success. I have
been searching the programs on Windows Explorer to se if some othe program
has sneaked on to my computer and is taking up all the memory, but cannot see
anything that might be causing the problem. I can open Excel, Access,
Publisher and Powerpoint with no problem, plus other non-Microsoft programs.
Can some kind helpful person give me a clue as to what has happened. I live
in a fairly remote part of Australia with no computer fix it shop handy. I
am aged 56 years, and have reasonable computer knowledge, but not for
complicated problems, so any help or suggestions would be gratefully
received.
kind regards, Marcia.
