I cannot remove the wordart on my design

I have designed a timesheet for my staff, I now wish to update it, however
word 2003 will not allow me to remove the 'office use only' sign I have put
onto the page and I am unable to find any grab handles to del or even edit
it...any help please..

Did you insert the sign as a watermark?
In that case, it is placed in the header/footer "layer" of the document. Try
this:
Select View > Header and Footer. When you are in "Header/Footer" view, you
should be able to select the sign by clicking on any "filled" area of it even
if it is not placed in the header area. Once the sign is selected (shows
handles), you can delete it.
