I cannot save a word file without the extensions, .doc.

Hi,
I have some word documents that don't have file extension, .doc.
I want to open , change and save them with the same name.
But my ms word program always save the files with the word file extension,
..doc.
So I cannot change the original word documents through ms word program.

For example, one of my word files name is "MSFile".
I can open it with Ms Word program.
But when I click "save" button/menu it saves the file with the name of
"MSFile.doc", which is a new document.
I want to save it in the same file.

Is there anyone know the reason or solution to make it?

Thanks in advance.

You can wrap the filename in double quotes. But why would anyone want a
filename without an extension? It is a security risk.
