I cannot type an e-mail in Microsoft Outlook

I recently ran sfc /scannow to correct a problem with not being able to view
my thumbnail images in WindowsExplorer. It did not correct the problem but
afterwards I could not type in the body of my e-mail in Microsoft Outlook 2002

can anybody tell me how to correct either of these problems, preferably the
last one as it is more important?

Run Office Detect/Repair from any office app
see if that helps
