I can't bring my files down from the website

I do hope someone can help me here, I have been using publisher for 3 years
now and once i figured it out I have had no trouble........until now!!!
Suddenly, I am not able to bring my files down from the website to edit
anything. I keep getting "website is not available" or "publisher can not
open files". These file were built in publisher!!! I have no idea what is
happening and I am getting EXTREMELY frustrated. I spoke with my webhosting
company (hostcentric -- it is shared webhosting) and they tell me all the
settings are correct and there is no reason for this to just have begun
happening and suggested that I ask someone from Microsoft or someone who
knows Publisher better.

Thanks for any help ya'll can give me!!

Normally you would open the .pub file on your computer, do the editing and
then upload the new files thus replacing the ones on the I.P.

Are you using a ftp (file transfer program) to upload and download the
website files?

I had already read that post to see if it was the same problem, but it
wasn't. I am using Publisher XP which came with XP office for small
business. In trying to bring the site back into Publisher to modify it, I
have always been able to click on "Open from an existing website" and I would
get a pop up showing the files being transfered back from the server. Now
when I try I simply get "Cannot connect to the webserver
http://www.abctpc.com. The server could not be located or may be to busy to
respond." I have tried using different variations of the web address
including the following: www.hostcentric.com/abctpc,
http://www.hostcentric.com/abctpc, ftp:\ftp.hostcentric.com\abctp.
Unfortunately all to no avail. the hosting company recently upgraded it's
platforms and that is when the problems began, but their answer to the whole
situation is to try to get help from Microsoft. Again, any help you can
offer would be most appreciated.

Originally I was able to open the site by clicking on the "...from and
existing site" option on the navigator bar in publisher. The adress was
originally loaed via the IP address and then up and downloaded from
www.abctpc.com. Now I am at such a loss as to how to retrieve it. I would
really hate to have to rebuild the whole thing again.

Someplace on your computer, you should have the actual publisher files you are
creating. It is really not good practice to bring the files back in from the
web every time you want to make changes.

And on the matter of help from M$...hahahahah.
