I can't enter Extranet WSS address in PWA->Admin->Manage WSS

When I enter SharePoint extranet address (https://servname.com:888) and try
to save changes I get the following error message:

"Project Server cannot connect to the specified Web server
running Windows SharePoint Services. Please check the HTTP
protocols and the port numbers in both URLs".

I checked all URLs (PWA extranet, intranet address, SharePoint extranet,
intranet address) I has entered. Each of them is correct.

What both URLs I have to check? May be I checking not needed URLs?

I saw, that I am not alone with such problem, but I didn't find any answer
on this board.

Does anybody at last solve this problem, or have any ideas how to solve it ?

Did you ran the installation of WSS template from Project Server CD.

Yes, I ran the installation of WSS template during Project Server setup. Now
we have Project Server configured and working and WSS configured and working.
We can create project workspaces with WSS, link project documents, questions,
risks, etc without problems. All hyperlinks from PWA to project workspaces
work properly.. but ONLY in INTRANET.

We tried to use administration page of PWA and typed our extranet adresses
there. But clicking "save changes" button brings the error described below.
(in fact, it happens if we dont type anything at all, just open the
configuration page)

So, the problem is we _cannot_save_changes_ when specifying extranet address.
