While PowerPoint is appropriate for presenting the highlights your business
plan, it is ill-suited for preparing a business plan.
MS Word is ideal for preparing a detailed business plan. There is, indeed a
Word template, aptly named "Business plan for startup business".
MS Excel is ideal for preparing a detailed breakout of your startup
expenses, which will support your MS Word business plan. There is, indeed an
Excel template, aptly named "Startup Expenses".
Both of these templates, available at

were developed by "Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE®)", which, you
might guess, knows of which they speak. They also have a web site loaded
