I cant get Excel to work for me..

I havent used my Excel2003 for 3 months, now i am having trouble using it.
I can type in box A1 . but when I move cursor and press mouse,
to select a box ,it wont let me do anything, not even typing into box.Whats
wrong with it. I have saved charts and I cannot amend them now. HELP Please.

I have nothing protected, When I try to select a cell the cursor just drags
and seems stuck. I cannot unstick the cursor without closing Excel. and then
same happens again.
