I can't get my heading to look right (From / Subject, etc.)

Hello,

My laptop Entourage looks completely different than my desktop and I
never changed any setting I'm aware of.

My desktop is what i like. It displays two areas, the one with inbox
etc, and then the second with headings From Subject, Sent, etc.

The laptop, which I hate, divides the second into two with only the

From displayed and the right half is a useless illegible view of the

email. But I can't figure out how to change it.

I have been in account setting and prefs and look at both side by side
and see no differences. So why do they look different. Also the
laptop always checks email every time I open the app, another thing I
can't see how to turn on and off in the account settings.

Any suggestions or references so much appreciated.

'View' menu, 'preview pane' - can be set to 'on right', 'below list' or
'None'

It sounds like you have 'on right' selected, but the message should be
perfectly legible - what is wrong with it?
