I can't get my readability statistics to work

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I have set my preferences in spelling and grammar to show readability statistics, but after the spell check I either get nothing or if the statistics do show up, they are way off. It will say 100 ease of reading but 0 sentences and give a grade level of .7 for something that reads grade 4.3 on Word 2004. I have to check readability on a machine that still has 2004 on it. Is there another preference somewhere that I am missing?

You're missing only a search of the newsgroup which would have filled you in
on the fact that this is a known issue & that MS is aware of same:) Exactly
when there will be a fix is not yet known. There is an update due for
release on 11 March, but whether it will address this we won't know until it
becomes available.

Thanks and sorry, I only searched the forum and not the newsgroups!

I need the readability statistics for my educational writing job.
Please add my name to the list of folks who miss this tool and would like a fix. I bought a new program but can't use it because it lacks this feature! I know someone over there (Microsoft) is savvy enough to find an answer! Please publish it when they figure it out! Thanks!

Hi Joyce -

Just so you're not laboring under a misconception, we don't maintain any
"lists" here nor do we work for MS - we're users of the software just like
you:) If you have comments for MS you're far better off to use Help> Send
Feedback from the appropriate program's menu bar.
