I can't insert page number in word 2007

I want to insert page number in word 2007, so I click Insert->Page
Number->Bottom of Page. It tells me "Save selection as page number(bottom)".
Where are those styles of page number? I could choose one style of page
number before the problem occurred.

On mine that function is greyed out. Do you not get a series of boxes with
different locations of the Page number (left, centre, right etc)? Just click
on the one you want.....
