Hello! I have a problem installing certain fonts from the Office 2004
CD. The fonts are:

MS Mincho
MS PMincho
MS Gothic
MS PGothic
Gulim

Font Book does not install the fonts when I drag them to the
application or the fonts folder. Nothing happens when I double-click
them either. Please tell me how to resolve this issue. Thank you!

(I am running Mac OS 10.3.4 on an iBook G4)

Which fonts folder are you trying to install the fonts into?

If you can't copy them into the ~:Library:Fonts folder (where ~ is your
home directory), then there's something wrong with your permissions
setting. Reset them, see

for instructions.

I tried installing copy-pasting the fonts to the "main" fonts folder
(not the system folder). I tried several times, but still no
installing took place. Uninstalling and Re-installing Office 2004
seemed to resolve the issuem but I'd still like to know what causes
this odd behavior...

Since it worked this time, it's hard to tell what the problem was...

Sure - in OS X, you can copy a file in one folder and paste it into
another.
