I can't open 2003 Word docs in 2007?

I recently upgraded some PCs in my office from Office 2003 to Office 2007.
Now I'm not able to open Word or Power Point documents outside of opening the
apps themselves and opening the documents from there. I have all of the
latest Office updates on the PC. What should I do?

I need help quick please!

If you are saying that the computers have Office 2007 only, you should be
able to restore file associations by running winword /r (via the Run dialog
box).

Microsoft Office has a free compatibility pack that our corporation
downloaded in anticipation of the move from Office 2000 to Office 2007.
Works quite sweetly with Office 2003 as well. Just google it on their
website.

I thought the user was having problems opening documents/applications. Sorry
if I misunderstood.
