I can't open a Cd I made with windows 98

I made a CD of my Recipes in Windows 98 also on floppy disk, when I try to
open the CD , word opens but message "Can not load Word for Windows6.0 files"
. How can I get my files off this CD

You should not open a Word file directly from a CD or other removable
media. Instead, copy the Word file to your hard drive and open it
there. Regarding the error message, it is difficult to offer a
suggestion when you do not say what program you are trying to open the
Word file with, or what version of Windows you have, but see
