I can't open excel with left click in IE 6

Using Win xp pro SP2
Office 2003 SP3

Hello people,

I can't left click on an excel link in IE6... when I do, I get an windows
error and it closes IE... but when I right click I get an option to open,
save as, etc.. and when I click on open it opens fine. I've tried Google a
search with the title "can't open excel in IE6" but didn't find any help.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Actually I didn't give enough information about the situation...

this is an end-user at work and user is trying to open an excel link in MS
SharePoint with IE6...
User can right click on link and click open and it works...
BUT it user left clicks on link, a windows error box appears with an close
option button that closes all IE when you click on it.

Hope someone can help with any ideas.
