I can't receive or send attachments greater than 800k

I use Entourage as part of Office 2001 on Apple system 9.2.
Suddenly I am unable to receive any attached files bigger than about
800k because the error message "Disk is full -- Error: -34" comes up.
The messages sit on the server, and the only way I can retrieve them is
to launch Outlook Express, bring them in, copy the attached file(s) on
to my hard drive, remove said attachments from the message and and then
manually transfer the email message into Entourage.

I also can't send anything bigger than about 800k without having the
same problem.

If anyone knows a resolution to this I would be most grateful to hear
it.
