I have tried to remove Office 2003 but without any success. It all started with that my girlfriend who also uses this computer deleted the C:/MSOCache directory so for number 1.. thats missing. I have also tried to update to MS Office 2003 SP1 but without any luck (I tried with this file: Office2003SP1-kb842532-fullfile-sve.exe, yes.. our language is Swedish..) but this gives only an error: "This update cannot be used".. I have translated from Swedish to English, I hope you understand 
Ok. I thought that an uninstallation of the Office should do it.. but no. I cant even uninstall it, i get the following error: "Could not open this correctionpackage..bla bla".. hmm.. Ok. So I tried with the Repair-function.. Same thing there..
So.. I had only one more thing to do.. Try to install it again.. But NO.. that doesn't work either. I complains about "Correctionpackage could not be opened..bla bla"
So, a summary of this:

2. SP1 update doesn't work
3. Uninstallation doesn't work
4. Repair doesn't work
5. Re-installation doesn't work
6. I cant open Outlook and read my mail..
7. Word 2003 works, but in start the Windows Installer does something and then program runs..
So, Im out of ideas.. HELP! Anyone out there know how to get past this? I would like to get my Office 2003 Professional working somehow.. Since
