I can't see the text in Visio after it is entered

I have used Visio for years, but this is new copy on my laptop. When I type
in text in all types of shapes or even directy in text, I cannot see what is
there. I only get a block of grey. What setting do I need to change to
correct this so I can see what the words are?

It seems at first thought that the text box and the text are both the same
grey colour. But as you have used Visio for years, you would be aware of
that, I suppose.

Any chance of posting an example or a link to an example?

Have you tried changing the windows color scheme?
Also, in menu Tools -> Options - Advanced there is a Color Settings
button. Ensure all the colors there are reasonable.

The text is a different color than the background of the shapes. If I go to
200% I can see the text, and when I copy the visio to powerpoint the text
appears. However, it makes it rather difficult to create when all text is
greyed out on the drawing. Since this is a new problem with this laptop, it
has to be a setting I haven't fixed.
I could not paste and example.

What you're describing is Visio's 'feature' of greying out small text. If
you increase the font size, the text should be visible at a zoom level of
100%. Anyone know if it's possible to customize this feature?

If that's the problem, then there's an option on the View tab of
Tools/Options called "Greek text under: X points" If you change this to
zero it should prevent the text being 'Greeked' at all.

Best regards

John
