I can't sync outlook contacts with blackberry pearl w/cingular

I can sync and/or import outlook contacts to a blackberry 7290, but had to
switch to blackberry pearl. Now the pearl will not complete the sync or
import.

The contacts remain in the 7290 but I can't transfer from blackberry to
blackberry either.
