I cant type in web links and hit enter to activate them? What hap

I used to be able to type www.Microsoft.com in an excel spread sheet, hit
[enter] and presto I had a link to microsoft in excel.
I lost the ability to do this and want to know how to reactivate my web
links..
MS help has proven useless, It leads me to deactivate web links but does not
help wit the auto hyperlink function. I am using MS excell 2003

This is a great question!

Tools > Options > Spelling > AutoCorrect > AutoFormat As You Type
and check the box for internet paths.
