I can't use my fonts

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

I am trying to use Helvetica Neue but I can't. The font appears on the menu and even changes to HN but it won't resize, it stays little. It is not recognizing fonts.

Help I have a presentation soon.
