I cropped a picture in Powerpoint, now how do i remove it?

Someone at my office did a map in powerpoint. It has a bunch of dots on it
and a bunch of numbers on the bottom and right side of the map. I want to
crop the map out with the dots. I used the cropping tool in the picture
toolbox. It gave me black handles on each side to size. After I size them,
then what?
