I delete this code and it automatically comes back...

The top line of my page has this code, which I delete and within a
second or two after saving it in frontpage, it re-appears. It's
unsettling to say the least. Anyone know about this? Thanks!

It appears when you use Word Art, Text Boxes, or any of the drawing tools in
your page. It will also appear if you assign the page to a Category.

Hmmmm. You sure? I have about 18 pages on my site where I'm using
"layers", but I don't see it on any of them. Also, when I take out the
layer from the page in question, the code still comes back after I
delete it.

And, I'm sorry, but what does it mean when you assign a page to a
category? Thanks Ron!

Thanks. I do use a drawing tool, of a line, that I'll remove and see
if that helps delete this code. But by the way, the code sounds
strange...witha www.w3.org link...?

Thanks guys. It worked. The line that was a drawing tool was the
"culprit." Much appreciated...

From FP Help:

You can use categories in Microsoft FrontPage to organize files that are
located in separate folders into logical groups. For example, you could
classify all of the travel-related files in your Web site into a category
titled Travel. You can either use the built-in categories in FrontPage, or
create your own custom categories. You can also use categories to group your
hidden files.
Once you have arranged your files into categories, you can then query them.
By filtering on the category names, you can display only the files that you
want to view.

Layers have nothing to do with the code.
