I am using MS Office Xp for students and teachers & trying to install the
service pack. However my original CD's are in storage and I cannot get
access to them. Is there a way that I can install this? I have tried
downloading the full version files but still get a request for the original
CD's

Hi Ben, I did press cancel and although it downloaded it says the update
failed to install.

Press Cancel and it should download and install the larger update.

RovinRizla,
Likely that you will need the original installation media, since you
recieved the failed to install error message.
You can try the full file version:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en
You did not mention the service pack level you are trying to install.
Office products require that you either leave the installation files on your
machine, such as Office 2003 (from the original install disk,s) or access to
your original installation cd's.

1. Go to http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/maincatalog.aspx?lc=en-us
and let the scan take place, if the ActiveX try's to install allow it to
2. Select all the updates then press "Agree and Install"
3. When you're asked "Do you have your Office product CD?" press "No" and
click OK
4. Check everything again and press "Agree and Install", from here you
should be good to go.
