I do not have permissions to edit or delete a recurring appointme.

I have a user who when trying to amend a recurring Outlook appointment he
gets an error message "you do not have permission to edit/delete". A
workaround is to change his calendar view to recurring appointment but he is
not happy with this. Any ideas?
