When I try to type something like this

"Why have I come here"

In my Word 2007 documents it always shows as

"Why have i come here" ( that is lowercase i instead of uppercase I )

It does not auto correct to a capital I

Any advise very much appreciated.

First check that the language is correctly set for document text (AutoCorrect
entries are language specific). If it still isn't working, I'd say that the
entry has been inadvertently deleted, in which case you will have to recreate
it in the AutoCorrect dialog box.

To display the dialog box, click the Office button, and then click Word
Options. In the Proofing category, click the AutoCorrect Options button. Look
at the AutoCorrect tab of the dialog box.

Thank you so much this fixed the problem. I am new to this and can't work out
where I go to rate this answer. Could you tell me please.

Go to Office button > Word Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options.

First make sure the box for "Replace text as you type" is checked.

If it was already checked, look in the list to see whether the entry to replace
"i" with "I" is there; if not, add it. If it is there, try deleting it and
adding it back in.
