I don't recieve all of my mail

I suspected that I was having a problem recieving all of my mail ,so I sent
myself 3 numbered test messages from a different address. I only recieved 2
of them(#s 1 and 2, but not 3 ) . It appears that I am always missing at
least 1 piece of mail a day when I check for messages that I am sure were
sent. I have sent the same message on different days, sometimes I get them
and sometimes I don't. I checked the filter settings and ran a search for any
unread mail, but that didn't help. Any suggestions would be helpful.Thanks.

Thanks for a fast response,I am using Outlook 2003 with windows XP. I have
Mcafee spamkiller and an anti-spam from my internet provider-Cox.net. Neither
of them shows that they blocked the missing mail when I check the
reports/logs. I checked the rules and there aren't any listed. It appears
that it is usually the first piece of mail in a batch or the last, if that
makes any sense. If it matters, when I start up windows XP it always tells me
that I have 1 unread mail message, regardless of how many pieces are in my
inbox when I check- even when the inbox is empty. I have only been running
Outlook and XP for a few weeks and the settings, as far as I can tell, are
still at default, I haven't made any unique rules or filters. I hope this
helps.

Ben,

I logged into Cox's webmail, and the messages aren't there either. I'm
guessing the problem is with them and not Outlook. I'll try their support and
see what I come up with. I'll post the results here. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your help in steering me in the right direction. It seems the
"problem" is isolated only to mail I send from my work. They must have a
firewall or spy program that snatches random pieces of mail to see what the
employees are up to. I won't get into company politics here, just wanted to
let you know how I made out. I will just avoid using thier system. It's not
an essential part of my job, just a convenience (actually it's not too
convenient is it?) Again thanks for helping me eliminate what the problem
wasn't. Take care
