I don't see a help and support group for using Office, so................

I am trying to find a way to keep two Word .docs open at the same time
so I can view them side by side.

Is there an Office NG for using Word?

Can you launch a second document after opening the first one? I've been able
to open two different Word docs and view them simultaneously by resizing the
windows.

the window menu should have an option for tiling or arranging open documents
too.

Did you mean to say "Word" in your subject line instead of "Office"?
Because the group you posted to is the right one for Office questions. You
can find one for Word specifically at

microsoft.public.word.newusers (good for general questions)

There are quite a few other Word groups as well...if your ISP's news server
doesn't carry them, add the msnews.microsoft.com news server to your
newsreader.
