I don't see previews of the pictures in my sample pictures folder

Help. I don't see previews of the pictures in my sample pictures folder any
more.
I see a folder cover instead of the actual picture with a caption about the
picture.
But not the picture. One person last week said I might have too many pictures
in the folder. So I deleted some, but still no automatic preview.
