I don't want all this fancy editing overhead when I reply or forwa

Whern I forward or reply to an existing e-mail message, Outlook assumes that
I want to highlight my additions in blue, and separate them out from the rest
of the message with the addition of extra spaces. Sometimes I do, and
sometimes I don't.

But it never lets me "not" do this. Are there any settings I can change in
Outlook to make it stop trying to tell me how I should be formatting my
responses, replies and forwards?

Thanks.

Robert,

Thanks. You answered *half* the question. I changed the font color, which
takes me half way there. But the "Mark my comments with..." has always been
off. I don't add a name-tag to my comments (nor do I typically want to), but
Outlook adds spaces to separate it out. I may just have to live with that.

I can always force the e-mail in and out of plain text format (well, not
always...)

Forgive me if this is a duplicate Reply ... something goofy happened with my
first Reply ... hopefully this one will work.

Is there any way to stop Outlook from automatically adding spaces when
Replying/Editing a message received? The "On replies and forwards?" shown
below does not address this particular issue.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, read this: My
receptionist types up some dictation and e-mails it to me. I then Reply to
her and start editing the text she wrote. Unfortunately, Outlook
automatically adds a space before and a space after every place I try to edit
.... it drives me crazy because I have to use the arrow keys and delete button
a lot just to make simple changes. Interestingly, it doesn't add the spaces
again in the same area (i.e. if you re-edit the word where spaces were
automatically added before, no spaces are added).
