I don't want to print some text in a doc

I have a Word 2003 form that I send out to many users. I want to put text
(instructions) in the form, but I do not want that text to print out with the
rest of the text in the form.

p.s. I know how to lock a form. I also know how to print only the
user-entered data. In this particular case I want the whole form to print
but not the instructions. My users are not very computer-literate and it
would not be appropriate for me to tell them to turn on/off formatting or to
un-hide hidden text. I would be willing to add a second page that had the
instructions, but I'm not sure how to make it never print on anyone's
computer.

Use Font Hidden Text as your style and colour and apply to Hide Text Style.

In Print Options you have the option to print the hidden text if you wish it
is not the default. You need to display Hidden Text though so when users
open new docs from templates the Hidden is visible on screen but not in
Print View.

using a form, maybe you can put the instruction in the status bar of
each formfield? And type "...F1 for more help", which gives you 255
more characters to explain your plan.

Furthermore you could type some text in the printermargin...
And, a default setting of MS Word is not to print hidden text.
Unfortunately it's not a default setting to view the hidden text on
screen. In case you can use a macro, you can set this option. In that
case you have plenty room for instructions.
