I have a problem in excel running in OSX on my imac. I
opened a new spreadsheet and for a cell formatted as
numeric, excel multiplies the input by .01 and puts that in
the cell. There is no formula in the cell.

Amy suggestions as to what is wrong?
Thanks

Preferences > Modification > Fixed decimals

Note this is an "Application" setting, this means it will apply to any
workbook until the setting is modified.

Thanks for the response, but I can't seem to find the
modifications preference.
The preferences I have available are:
view, save, calculation, edit, general, transition, custom
lists, chart, color.

I'm running excel v. X on a mac.

Additional clarification would be appreciated!

It'll be "Edit" pane then. Guess you'll have found by now, but one never
knows. I'm using a French version, so I sometimes do not find the matching
words. Hope it helps you out this time :)
