After having persisted for a year and a half with Ent08 I had to finally give up. The problems are to say the shocking. I loved Entourage. Like Outlook its what I lived in. However, the problems with the product are notorious. I just spoke to Apple and they are escalating this to their highest engineering level. I also suggested as part of iWork add in an Entourage like module. Its now in their system. I talked to Microsoft and the news isn't good. They are unable to fix the sync services problem. The database repair problem remains a mystery. This from the largest software manufacturer in the world. I have used Microsoft since 1984 and never had an issue. This last year and a half has been a disaster. I've identified to Apple that 78% of people using office products on the Mac use Office. If Office fails I feel strategically that the Mac will be in trouble. But it iw we that invested our personal time that will be the losers. I don't think we should have to be. Lets start yelling strongly and loudly at Microsoft. We’re the customers. We bought a product that is just supposed to work for me it works well except around sync and it isn’t just sync that doesn’t work - my DB ends up damaged, corrupted and unable to be rebuilt successfully. Fortunately I had backups. Probably like you the info I kept in Entourage was critical. It still is.
But I changed over to the Apple apps having talked to the most senior engineers at both companies and deciding if I don't change I'm going to be in the loony bin. So I changed. I'm still going to persist with Microsoft and see what I can do with Apple to facilitate this. Their product Clarice Organizer back in the 90"s would be a great fourth module to to iwork. That will kill oofice on the mac. Either Microft smartens up or they will die and their death is happening on ,many fronts - just watch the stock.
