Are you actually encountering this problem? I would expect/hope that the
problem doesn't occur if the original disks included SP1.

So uh what happens if Office 2000 came with SP1 embeded?

Hi George,

It's the "SR1 Update" installation sequence rather than Office 2000 SR1 version
(Office 2000 SR1 product CD) that causes the issue.

FWIW, Service Releases (SR) generally have a matching CD with the change incorporated while Service Packs (SPs) are generally 'add
on' install only.
Unfortunately, Microsoft stopped doing Service Release product updates for
Office after Office 2000.
