I get a message saying Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Why?

I haven't used Microsoft Outlook for somtime and when I tried to recently I
just got a message saying "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook". I have the Office
97 disc and have tried to reinstall it, but have not been able to get any
different answer.

I have Outlook 2003 and basically get a similar message. A box comes up
saying that Outlook has terminated and I have an option box to check to
reopen but the same message pops up.
