I get message "cannot find directory" with ExcelTools Menu

I canged some of my personal directory name and deleted others. Now when I
run Microsoft Excel xp and try to go into the options menu and click on any
one of the tabs, I get aqn error message that says: Can not access directory
and it show a directory name tat I have deleted previously.
If I re-create the directory and place no files in, the error message goes
away.

How about recreating the folder.
Then tools|options (probably General tab)
and change the folder name to what you really want.

then close excel
rename that old folder to something else
and reopen and test it out.

If it worked, just delete the old folder.

I was having the same problem. Dave Peterson's idea is what worked
for me. After I mapped a drive and directory to where the error
message was pointing to, I could open Excel / Tools / Options and get
to any of the tabs.

The secret is that you have to change: 1) the default file location on
the General Tab, and 2) the location for the AutoRecovery file location
on the Save Tab. The 2nd one is curious as I didn't even have
AutoRecover enabled...but the location could be seen greyed out.

After making these changes, I closed Excel and Disconnected the drive
that I had mapped. Reopened Excel and everything was back to "normal".
