I get the message COM ERROR Command is not available because there is not an open document [...]

Dear colleagues,

Whenever I open a Word document by clicking on the filename I get this
box:

COM ERROR Command is not available because there is not an open
document. CritiqueWordAddin:: Document change.

With an OK button.

The OK button doesn't work, I have to close the window on the status
bar, and then the document opens normally.

This does not happen if I open MS Word and then search for the file.
It´s MS Word 2003 (11.5604.5606).

First try recreating the file associations for Word. Go to Start/Run
and run:

winword /r

Note the space before the forward slash.
