I got a lil' problem with "Between" criteria

I've got multiple values being queried by parameters like so

as seen in the GUI design Vie
Like "*" & [Enter Parameter Here:
[i:baab082204](Office, name
etc...)[/i:baab082204][b:baab082204] & "*"[/b:baab082204

Now, one of these values (Date, to be specific), I want to query fo
range, and so I type
[b:baab082204]Between [Enter start date:] And [Enter en
date:][/b:baab082204

Now, this works, but with one problem: When I DON'T enter the ranges
it still queries. I mean, I think it still queries. I just get on
blank record returned. Maybe it doesn't. If anyone's seen this, or ca
give me an indication why this may be happening, let me know
