I got the message "Office 2003 SP1" Update cannot be applied" Wha.

I downloaded the full version file of the Office 2003 SP1, ran the program,
the files extracted, the program said it was checking the configuration, then
I got a message which said "Update cannot be applied". I attempted to then
install it directly from Office Update and I got the same message. Anyone
else encounter this problem, and if so how can it be resolved to update
Office 2003 to SP1.

I ran into same problem. Used download.microsoft. Clicked on my version of
office and an automatic scan done of puter. Downloads suggested. I had to
download 2 or 3 items before I could download o2ksrla

That's what I did intially. Got update to download from download.ms. Still
could not get it to install. Did you download the same file more than once
before you were abel to apply the update?

You may have a problem with the Windows Installer. Check here:

It is a place to start. Even if your installer is OK, running the cleanup
utility will do no harm.
