I have a business that I manage....

and a group of other businesses that I want to begin using Onenote for.....
Is it possible to have separate free standing versions of OneNote (each with
their own unique name) or does everything have to be in the same "catchall"
app ?

Thanks

Can you clarify what you are asking? Do you mean switching among separate
"My Notebook"s?

I am working off a trial version of OneNote....... my question is.....
can I create 2 (or 3) entirely separate OneNote Notebooks... eg.
Notebook 1 = Moss Creek Golf Course
Notebook 2 = Other Startup Businesses
Notebook 3 = My personal life

so that when I go into Notebook 1 ...there is absolutely nothing in any of
the pages/ folders about either my Other Startup Businesses or My Personal
Life's ..... each of my Notebooks exist as completely separate applications.
In the trial version, as I attempt to copy/past My Notebook (so as to create
another one) I get a message asking me if I want to reinstall/ repair
exisiting Notebook....

I hope this is clearer than mud ....
This is a great program ...but I have lots of things going on....and really
want to keep things from running together.
Thanks
Mike

Having different User Logins will work for what you describe you would like
to do. You can be the User with the different logins (accounts).
The next version of OneNote (version Office 12) will support what you would
like to do.

I will be looking forward to the next version of OneNote.

Although you can't have seperate "My Notebooks" in this version, you
can pretty much accomplish the same thing by using Folders...

Create three folders on the main page.
Create Sections inside those folders.
- This will create a ".One" file for each section. (i.e. Marketing,
Financials, etc...)
Password protect your Personal sections.

As long as you are in a Folder, others seeing your screen won't see the
other folders.
You can email just the specific .one file. (i.e. Moss
Creek\Marketing.one)
You can put them on a mapped drive to a file server or share a folder
on your work PC.
Or use the MS SyncToy to replicate...
- Laptop to Business PC = "My Notebook\Moss Creek" only
- Laptop to Home PC = "My Notebook\StartUp Business" and "Personal"
(

)

Depending on the other programs you use, try some OneNote PowerToys to
import data. Such as IE2OneNote, Outlook2OneNote, FireFox/Flock to
OneNote, Omea RSS Reader, MindManager, and more. See
http://www.onenotepowertoys.com for the most complete list to date. MS
will be releasing thier Contest Results later this month with the 12
best of the 1000+ that were submitted (only 1 of top 12 available
currently, to my knowledge).

Not in the current version (as was mentioned elsewhere in the thread).
What I do is instead of notebooks (of which you're only allowed one) I
use folders for these purposes. One top-level folder for Personal notes,
another top-level folder for business notes, etc.

Logging in and out among different accounts just to get to another set of
data is probably too time consuming ;)

To expand upon the "I use folders for these purposes. One top-level
folder for Personal notes, another top-level folder for business notes,

actually post via google earlier)

Why not create a series of OneNote Folders in the "Top" My Notebook
Folder, then define each of those as separate notebooks.
